Journalism takes us places we might not otherwise see, leads us to people we might not otherwise meet, and prompts us to capture experiences we might not otherwise document. And journalists often carry those stories with them long after they are published. Whether you travel across the country or across the street for work, “You Are Here” is here for you. This virtual meetup is for journalists to explore where their personal and professional lives intersect.
“You Are Here” is a new series of community conversations designed as a safe space for journalists to meet virtually and explore topics that family and friends who aren’t in the field may not quite understand. Come as you are — from wherever you are — for camaraderie, clarity, and connection with fellow journalists. Click here to sign up.
The second gathering will be Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 11:30 a.m. ET. The topic will be: What’s bringing you joy in journalism right now? Andee Tagle, an associate producer and now-and-then host for NPR’s Life Kit podcast, will be our guest navigator.
Our next topic is:
– How do I know when it’s time to go? (Oct. 1)
Meetings will be from 11:30 to noon ET on the first Friday of each month, hosted and facilitated by the National Press Club Journalism Institute staff with a guest navigator joining some meetings.
